MEET BRIAN BURLEY

Brian Burley is a Trustee on the Huntington Beach City School District Board and a candidate for Congress in California’s new 42nd District
 

Brian was raised in a small town in Michigan, where his father worked as a forklift operator and his mother balanced jobs as a waitress and an accountant. He learned early the values of hard work, faith and perseverance. His life changed when his mother came to California for cancer treatment at the City of Hope. After her passing, Brian worked his way out of poverty, determined to honor her strength and build a life rooted in purpose and service.

Brian earned his undergraduate degree in Political Economy from the University of Southern California and continued there to complete three master’s degrees — in Public Policy, Digital Media Management, and Emergency Management.

 

He has built a professional career in information technology and higher education, committed to improving systems, strengthening institutions, and serving the community.

In Huntington Beach, Brian was elected to the school board where he has stood for parental rights, academic excellence, and fiscal responsibility. He has worked to ensure safe schools, strong academic standards, transparent governance, and responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars.

Brian believes our nation needs leaders who listen, work collaboratively, and stay grounded in the communities they serve — not in the interests of Washington insiders. He is running for Congress to deliver practical, principled leadership focused on safe neighborhoods, quality schools, economic opportunity, and protecting our freedoms.
